KLM Open: Sergio Garcia two shots back as Callum Shinkwin leads

Sergio Garcia made a bogey-free start to get within two shots of this lead to Amsterdam.
The former Masters winner posted four birdies in a blemish-free 68 in The International to sit at the group four two strokes straight and under from leader Callum Shinkwin.
Garcia, trying to combine with the likes of Jose Maria Olazabal and Seve Ballesteros since Spanish winners of this event, began on the back nine started with successive birdies on his way .
Also top the leaderboard and the European Tour winner uttered a 30-footer at the par-four first and rolled at a 15-footer in the eighth to close the gap to place a 66.
“Conditions got a small bit trickier over the previous six or seven holes, so I was quite happy with this,” Garcia explained. “I will continue working hard like I’ve been doing and hopefully I’ll have an opportunity this weekend.”
Shinkwin, 126th at the Rush to Dubai, reached the turn in 32 courtesy of three birdies, a eagle and a single dropped shot.
English trio Chris Paisley, Sam Horsfield and Matthew Southgate sit off the rate on five under along with Scotland’s Marc Warren, Denmark’s Nicolai Hojgaard along with Malaysia’s Gavin Green, together with one time leader James Morrison in the team two off the pace with Garcia.
While Patrick Reed submitted a 72 defending champion Wu Ashun is about three below alongside home favourite Joost Luiten, who recovered by being three-over-par at the turn for within three of their guide.
