KLM Open: Sergio Garcia two shots back as Callum Shinkwin leads

Sergio Garcia created a bogey-free start to the KLM Open to get within two shots of this lead to Amsterdam.
The Masters winner published four birdies at a blemish-free 68 in The International to sit in the group four two strokes back and under from leader Callum Shinkwin.
Garcia, trying to combine with the likes of Seve Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal as Spanish winners of the event, began on the back nine opened with birdies on his way to reaching the turn.
The European Tour winner wrapped to close the gap and uttered a 30-footer at the par-four first to place a 66 and also top the leaderboard.
“Conditions got a little bit trickier over the previous six or seven holes, so that I was quite pleased with that,” Garcia said. “I will continue working hard like I have been doing and hopefully I’ll have an opportunity this weekend”
126th at the Rush to Dubai, shinkwin, reached the turn in 32 courtesy of a single, three birdies and the eagle dropped shot.
English trio Chris Paisley, Sam Horsfield and Matthew Southgate sit off the pace on five below alongside Scotland’s Marc Warren, Denmark’s Nicolai Hojgaard along with Malaysia’s Gavin Green, together using one-time leader James Morrison at the group two off the rate with Garcia.
While Patrick Reed posted a 72 defending champion Wu Ashun is under alongside home favourite Joost Luiten, that recovered by being three-over-par in the flip for within three of the lead.
