Callum Smith defends super-middleweight title by unanimous decision

Callum Smith fended off a spirited challenge by John Ryder retain his WBA super-middleweight name and to win by unanimous decision.
Hopes were in Smiths home city to get a win but he had been pushed by the Londoner and it seemed after 12 rounds that the choice could be near.
However, the three judges scored it 117-111, 116-112 and 116-112 to Smith.
It implies after defeating Hassan NDam in New York in June Smith defends the name for a second time.
It wasnt the very best performance out of myself but that I was due a bad person, Smith told Sky Sports.
I had been in first gear for just a small bit too long. That was nowhere close to the top of me tonight.
